Special Issue Proposal

What is a Special Issue?

A Special Issue is a collection of peer reviewed articles which focus on a special topic within the scopes of the journal. These Special Issues aim to provide a platform for authors and readers to discuss the latest research and new ideas. They are led by Guest Editors, who are experts in the field. The Editors-in-Chief will oversee the appointment of Guest Editors and the approval of Special Issue proposals, ensuring both the qualifications of the Guest Editors and the topic relevance for the journal.

Who will be the Lead Guest Editor?

If you would like to submit a proposal for a Special Issue, you will be taking on the role of Lead Guest Editor. Lead Guest Editors should have recognized expertise in the field covered by the Special Issue and ensure to contribute time to developing the Special Issue. They are responsible for defining the scope of the special issue, recruiting a team of suitably qualified Guest Editors, identifying and contacting potential contributors and overseeing the peer review process.

What are the responsibilities of the Guest Editor?

As a Guest Editor, your primary responsibilities include identifying and inviting authors to contribute to a Special Issue, setting timelines, and ensuring timely submission and publication of manuscripts. You will manage the peer review process within the submission system, providing regular updates on the status of articles. Additionally, you'll be expected to write an Editorial to summarize the Special Issue and select a cover image if needed. Furthermore, promoting the Special Issue within your network is crucial to enhance its visibility and impact.

Submitting a Proposal

Please fill in all the fields in the PROPOSAL FORM and send to the journal Editorial Office: dmd@istp-press.com. All proposals will be evaluated by the Editorial Office and the Editor-in-Chief, and they will make the decision as to whether your Special Issue is suitable for this journal. Revisions may be requested to improve the proposal. If final approval is given, the Editorial Office will work with you to support the promotion and administration of the Special Issue.
